Yankees Predicted to be 'Most Active' in MLB Free Agency

The Yankees presently hold a tiny lead over the Orioles in the AL East race, but they can rest assured that regardless of how the battle with the Birds plays out, they will make the postseason.

While it is not a guarantee, the Yankees are virtually certain to win the playoffs, according to Fan Graphs.

While skill plays a role in the postseason, hot streaks and good fortune play a larger one, what occurs beyond the playoffs is undoubtedly influenced by astute management and insights. There's also money. A lot of money.

Whatever happens in October, the Yankees are likely to take center stage in November and December, for one thing, because they are the Yankees,

and for another, because they currently employ two of the potentially biggest names on the free-agent market: outfielder Juan Soto and pitcher Gerrit Cole.

This is the gist of an article published this week by Bleacher Report analyst Zachary Rymer titled "Predicting the 8 Most Active Teams in MLB Free Agency in the 2024 Offseason."

The Yankees are one of eight teams anticipated to be the most active, and if that list was reduced to four or even one, you could count on the Yankees to remain.

This begins with Soto and Cole, as Rymer writes: "Without a close runner-up, the biggest question of the offseason is: Who wins the Juan Soto sweepstakes?"
