Tiger Woods undergoes another back surgery, says it 'went smothly'

Heavyweight champion Tiger Woods took to social media on Friday to announce that he had undergone successful back surgery again.

It was her sixth back surgery that she had made public. "The surgery went well," Woods said in a message to X (formerly Twitter).

"Hopefully this helps ease my pain and back stiffness for most of the 2024 season."

Woods has sustained injuries before. This was Woods' first back procedure since just before he suffered severe leg injuries in a vehicle accident in February 2021. 

Following his crash, he needed more surgeries, and another procedure on his right ankle interfered with his 2023 season.

This season, Woods has had trouble playing. He finished 60th at the Masters, missed the cut at the PGA Championship, U.S. Open, and British Open, and withdrew from the Genesis Invitational due to sickness.
