Caitlin Clark has had a terrific first season for the Indiana Fever. In addition to her own accomplishments, her new club is also headed to the playoffs.
However, Sheryl Swoopes, one of Clark's early doubters, remains adamant that Clark would not enter the WNBA and dominate.
So far, the rookie averages 19.5 points per game, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds.
"Those are hell of numbers, but to me that's not dominating," Swoopes stated on an episode of Gilbert Arena's "Gil's Arena" podcast.
Clark now leads the league in assists per game, but she is also first in turnovers and seventh in scoring average, barely ahead of Sabrina Ionescu.
Clark also just set WNBA assists and rookie scoring records in a single season.
Swoopes sought to explain her position as the quartet on the podcast argued the finer elements of Clark's rookie season, including whether it was dominant.
"What I said was that I didn't think Caitlin or Angel [Reese] would come into the league and dominate immediately," Swoopes stated, before standing by his statement.
