When they take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers will make an effort to restrict the Minnesota Vikings' quarterback, Justin Jefferson
They, like every other team, would prefer to have the elite wide receiver play for them rather than for another team.
During the beginning of the offseason, when the 49ers were engaged in a protracted contract dispute with Brandon Aiyuk,
it was reported that they attempted a seismic audible that was never going to be successful.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the 49ers reached out to the Vikings in order to inquire about Jefferson's availability leading up to the NFL Draft
mmediately rebuffed" any trade negotiations that were brought up, and Minnesota "never considered" transferring him.Additionally,
the New York Jets and the Indianapolis Colts attempted to find out more about Jefferson, but their conversations were fruitless as well.
These queries were made prior to the Vikings committing Jefferson to a record-setting extension of his contract.
Jefferson was given a four-year, 140 million dollar contract by Minnesota in June, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league under that arrangement.
