Louis Rees-Zammit's sudden dismissal from the Kansas City Chiefs was tempered by a heartfelt tribute from former teammates Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes.
He has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, thus he is leaving Kansas for Florida.
Despite his limited stay with the Chiefs, during which he played only three pre-season games, Rees-Zammit formed long-lasting friendships.
The Welsh rugby star turned NFL hopeful said Mahomes and Kelce have been nothing but encouraging since he left the team.
"I received so many texts from everyone wishing me luck. "I've been playing the game for three months," admits Rees-Zammit.
His former friends' counsel has been simple but effective: "They just said stick at it and keep working on what you can work on, and eventually everything will work out."
When Rees-Zammit switched roles in the sport, he encountered a steep learning curve, stating,
"They didn't know I was going to change positions and whatnot.
So, based on that recommendation, probably not. But there's more: "I'm a very hard worker, and I really want this," Wales Online adds.
