Oregon man charged with stalking, harassing UConn's Paige Bueckers

In Connecticut Superior Court in Rockville, an Oregon man is accused of stalking UConn star Paige Bueckers and the harassment dates back to early June.

Robert Cole Parmalee was charged Friday after Bueckers tried to approach his teammates with threats. A 40-year-old woman from Grants Pass, Oregon, has been charged with breach of peace,

ESPN reported that Parmalee contacted Bueckers in February. Parmalee's arrest warrant document states that he sent Bueckers Instagram videos. Bueckers claims she never replied.

In June, Parmalee emailed UConn Police, claiming to be a royal family member who wanted to marry a women's basketball player.

According to reports, the emails included pictures of Queen Elizabeth II, Lucille Ball and other female basketball players. After sending "ramblings," Parmali threatened her on social media and created a fake wedding invitation, according to UConn police.

Connecticut police stopped Parmalee in Hartford on Aug. 27 on offenses unrelated to Bueckers after his cross-country flight.

When asked by state police what he was doing in Connecticut, Parmalee said he was visiting Bueckers. He called her "friend."

Parmalee faces breach of peace, electronic stalking, and harassment charges. He has a $100,000 bond. Parmalee appeared in Rockville Superior Court Monday and has an October 22 court date.
