Lions Vet & Super Bowl Winner Poached by Giants: Report

The Detroit Lions will lose a veteran to the New York Giants. In Week 2, the Giants lost 21-18,

while the Washington Commanders won big thanks to seven Austin Seibert field goals.

Following the loss, the Giants' postgame news conference was heavily focused on the team's choice not to call up kicker Jude McAtamney from the practice squad despite Graham Gano's groin injury.

Gano injured his hamstring on the first kickoff, which damaged the Giants in the game. The Giants are now signing Lions placekicker Greg Joseph from Detroit's practice squad

perhaps in retaliation to the blotched kicker decision, according to Joseph's agency.

Brett Tessler, Joseph's agent, said on X that the New York Giants have signed his client Greg Joseph off the Detroit Lions' practice squad to their active roster

The 7-year veteran has kicked for the Vikings for the past three seasons and holds the NFL record for game-winners in a season (5)

the Vikings record for longest field goal (61 yards), and led the NFL in TB% in 2021.
