According to various individuals who have knowledge of the matter but are not authorized to speak publicly about it,
the Los Angeles Lakers are prepared to reach an agreement with center Christian Koloko over a two-way deal.
This will allow the Lakers to strengthen their frontcourt in the wake of Christian Wood's most recent knee procedure.
Koloko, who is 24 years old, was selected with the 33rd overall choice in the 2022 NBA draft. However
was unable to play in any games during the previous season due to complications involving blood clots
It is still necessary for him to receive clearance from the NBA's Fitness-to-Play Panel, which is comprised
medical professionals who will decide whether or not Koloko is able to resume his involvement on the court.
With 15 players, the roster of the Los Angeles Lakers is at capacity. In order to make room for Koloko,
it is anticipated that they will release one of the three players who are currently under an agreement with them for two years.
When Koloko was playing for the Toronto Raptors as a rookie, he had a tremendous amount of defensive talent on the floor.
He was a center who stood 7 feet 1 inch tall and had a wingspan of 7 feet 5 inches. He blocked one shot on average in 13.8 minutes a game.
Following the completion of a trade with Indiana, the Raptors released him in January of last year in order to make room on their roster.
