Jets' Robert Saleh issues assurance after crushing loss to 49ers

In welcome Aaron Rodgers back to the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers were unwelcoming hosts.

The New York Jets are on their way back to the East Coast after suffering a crushing 32-19 defeat at the hands of the reigning NFC champions.

The Jets' fans didn't hold back after the setback. Neither did Jets coach Robert Saleh during the postgame press conference, but he did make one assurance to the Big Apple.

"They're a champion team," Saleh confessed. "They introduced us to the sport of championship football. We'll solve that s**t."

There is much to be fixed. Aaron Rodgers had one harrowing moment and hardly got started before Saleh sensed the frustrations on the sideline.

The future Hall of Famer completed 13 of 21 throws for 167 yards in Monday's contest. Rodger scored once and threw an interception before being replaced by Tyrod Taylor on the last drive.

"We never really gave (Rodgers) a chance to get in a rhythm," Saleh pointed out. "Congratulations to San Francisco on defense; they ran the ball well and passed well. Despite making modifications to the run game in the second half, they were still explosive

The 49ers were explosive even without All-Pro Christian McCaffery, which should be cause for concern for the Jets. Jordan Mason gained 147 yards on 28 carries for New York, securing the win.

"They have a stable of good running backs and are very good up front," Saleh commented. "From an efficiency standpoint, they beat us up front plain and simple."Sure,
