The 49ers were nasty to Aaron Rodgers upon his return to the NFL. The New York Jets lost 32-19 against the reigning NFC champions in a three-phase game before returning to the East Coast.
Jets fans were vehement after the loss. In the postgame press conference, Jets coach Robert Saleh gave the Big Apple one certainty.
Many issues must be addressed. After one scary moment, Aaron Rodgers hardly started to work before Saleh grew frustrated on the sidelines.
The future Hall of Famer completed 13 of 21 passes for 167 yards on Monday. After one score and one interception, Tyrod Taylor replaced Rodger on the last drive.
“We never really gave (Rodgers) a chance to get in a rhythm,” Saleh said. San Francisco played well defensively, rushing the ball and throwing.
Although we made modifications in the run game in the second half, they were still explosive.
The 49ers were explosive without All-Pro Christian McCaffery, which worries the Jets. To seal the victory, New York gave Jordan Mason 147 yards on 28 carries.
“They have a stable of good running backs and are very good up front,” Saleh said. They outperformed us upfront in efficiency.
