"I'm not into the individual accomplishments" - Alonzo Mourning explains why his career-high game mattered nothing

When Alonzo Mourning first entered the NBA in 1992, he was a formidable opponent.

His CV demonstrates that he has accomplished nearly everything a professional basketball player could hope for.

Mourning had the ability to score, rebound, and defend, which is something that any coach would want for his players.

However, facing powerhouse teams such as the New York Knicks in the 1990s, the 1992 Draft's second overall choice needed to raise his game.

When Alonzo faces up against his close buddy Patrick Ewing, the stakes are higher.

Both had their share of clashes throughout their respective careers.

One happened in February 1993 when Mourning was still playing for the Charlotte Hornets.

In that regular-season game, the Knicks came from behind to defeat the Hornets 124-116.

For his part, Mourning also had a superb outing. He finished with a game-high 35 points, but the loss left him with a frown.
