Giants' Daniel Jones gets support from Eagles great and former colleague.

Daniel Jones was unable to keep the New York Giants competitive against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season

but he received a lot of support afterward, including from a former teammate.

The Giants lost 28-6 to the Vikings in Week 1.

Jones finished the game with 22-42 completion attempts for 186 passing yards and a forgettable 0-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

Following the crushing defeat, Jones' former colleague and current Philadelphia Eagles great running back Saquon Barkley offered him words to boost his confidence.

According to ESPN's Tim McManus on X, Barkley had the following to say to the media on the Duke University product at this early stage of the season

I was there for six years and have made friends there. There are no negative sentiments for those guys

and maybe they will recover and get back into the rhythm. I talked with him. I'm pretty good friends with DJ.

Obviously, for me, it was just to tell him to go out there and play freely," the former Giants ball carrier explained.
