In appreciation of his efforts to an audiobook based on his life, Kaepernick received an award from Amazon's Audible the year before.
The Gordon Parks Foundation's Annual Awards Dinner is set for May, and Billboard.com's Paul Grein reports that Kaepernick will be honored at the event.
They will recognize Kaepernick's efforts to the sphere of social justice.
The Gordon Parks Foundation's Annual Awards Dinner, which will be held on May 21 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City, will now include the following honorees:
athlete and activist Colin Kaepernick, civil rights activist and former NAACP chairman Myrlie Evers-Williams, and mixed media artist Mickalene Thomas.

Since then, he has founded three organizations dedicated to improving the liberation of people of African ancestry and people of color,
such Know Your Rights Camp, Kaepernick Media, and Kaepernick Publishing, and he has also helped fund these organizations.
Gordon Parks, a photographer, has long emphasized social justice. A substantial percentage of Park's artwork focused on civil rights topics.
Kaepernick should be overjoyed to see his name mentioned on a list of award winners.
