The Kansas City Chiefs will meet the Miami Dolphins this weekend, but few would argue that regardless of the outcome of the 2024 NFL Playoffs, KC must improve at wide receiver this spring.
On January 10, Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department suggested two candidates for the Chiefs to explore.
The first involved a hefty investment in one of the league's most reliable veterans: Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free agency Mike Evans
Outside of Rashee Rice, it's impossible to get overly excited about what the Chiefs' wide receiver group did this season,
Bleacher Report reasoned after identifying Evans as their "top target" in 2024 free agency.
The group routinely had costly drops and, despite having multiple promising prospects, no one outside of Rice really stepped up."
"Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes represent a great foundation for the passing attack," according to the blog
"but going out and signing a veteran like Mike Evans could bring this Chiefs offense back to its former glory."
It is not the first time the Chiefs have been linked to Evans, a legend who helped the team win the Super Bowl in 2020. In 2024, however, the Buccaneers veteran will most likely become an unrestricted free agent.
