The Cleveland Browns added veteran running back Royce Freeman to the practice squad on Tuesday.
The agreement comes as the Browns are battling with injuries to their running backs and uncertainty surrounding Nick Chubb's comeback.
Freeman was most recently with the Dallas Cowboys, but was waived prior to the start of the season
He may not be a household name, but Freeman has a resume that includes 79 games played.
Freeman has run for 1,792 yards on 471 carries and scored 10 touchdowns. He's had stints with the Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, and Los Angeles Rams.
Freeman joins a Browns running back corps that includes Jerome Ford, D'Onta Foreman, and Pierre Strong Jr.
Foreman had the most of the workload during the team's Week 2 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, running 14 times for 42 yards.
Strong is listed as "week to week" by the Browns after suffering a hamstring injury against the Jaguars.
