Bowl projections: Tennessee joins College Football Playoff field, Kansas State moves up

This week will mark the end of the first quarter of the college football season, and as conference play heats up in Week 4,

attention will likely shift to the playoff field. This results in more modifications to this week's bowl forecasts.

The Sooners' first SEC game as a member of the SEC presents an early test on Saturday when they play Tennessee.

Expected to win, the visiting Volunteers may move up to the fourth spot in the SEC standings by defeating Mississippi.

Although there isn't much between the two teams, Tennessee now has the advantage due to the calibre of its win.

Another notable alteration to the pitch is that Kansas State has switched places with Utah, their Big 12 rival.

Following their thrilling victory over Arizona, the Wildcats have secured a conference championship position, while the Utes revert to their at-large standing.

More action may be in store when Utah plays Oklahoma State in the league's opening match.
