Following the Cincinnati Bengals' season-opening loss to the New England Patriots by a score of 16-10 in Week 1,
quarterback Joe Burrow spent Wednesday downplaying and denying concerns that he has not fully healed from the wrist injury that ended his 2023 season
This concern was sparked by a variety of factors, including an analysis of his
collapses as well as a more niche and peculiar fixation over how he picked up a water bottle on the sidelines.
Burrow was seen by television cameras at one time while he was sitting on the bench for the Bengals.
He was clumsily taking up a water bottle in such a way that it caused fans online to be concerned that his wrist was still causing him difficulty.
In response to a line of questioning regarding the video, Burrow answered with a mixture of astonishment and laughter. He was unaware of the preoccupation that was being asked about.
"What was it that I did? I picked it up weird?" Burrow asked a reporter who had submitted a question to him.
This was followed by the inquiry of whether or not he felt as though he picked up the bottle in an odd manner. I'm not sure, but I did drink some water. I can't say that I've seen that or that I understand what those people are talking about.
