The 2-0 Pittsburgh Steelers are still in the midst of a quarterback competition,
as several months of talking points and a couple regular-season games have failed to separate Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.
Wilson hasn't seen much playing time despite being the projected starter when he signed and entered training camp, due to a calf issue.
Fields, on the other hand, has shown sparks in the Steelers' two victories this season.
Fields has made only one mistake against the Falcons and Broncos, a lost fumble versus Denver, and has demonstrated his talent as a passer and runner.
Fields is far more dangerous with his arm and legs than Kenny Pickett ever was, and that low bar has Steelers supporters thrilled about what's in store this season.
Next Sunday, Pittsburgh will play its home opener against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Mike Tomlin has not named a starter for that game, but if Wilson is well enough to play, he may finally have to decide his long-term strategy at the position.
