Beetlejuice Beetlejuice screenwriters Alfred Gough and Miles Millar think Tim Burton's take on a key character's background is one of many scenes in the blockbuster that showcase his storytelling skills.

Michael Keaton's 1988 eerie comedy Beetlejuice is finally getting a sequel. Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O'Hara reprise their roles in the sequel.

In Beetlejuice, Jenna Ortega plays Lydia's daughter Astrid and Justin Theroux plays her boyfriend Rory.

Monica Bellucci plays Beetlejuice's spiteful ex-wife Delores, while Willem Dafoe plays a deceased actor who overacts in detective films in the Afterlife.

The sequel begins with the Deetz family returning to Winter River, Connecticut, for Lydia's father and Delia's husband Charles' funeral 36 years after Beetlejuice.

Someone always says “Beetlejuice” three times, releasing it.

Beetlejuice's earlier endeavors were briefly explained in the original film.

In a rapid-fire exchange, Beetlejuice says he “attended Julliard” and “graduated from Harvard Business School,” “travels quite a bit extensively” and “lived through the Black Plague” (and had a nice time).

Beetlejuice also boasted that he had seen The Exorcist 167 times, “and it keeps getting funnier every single time I see it!”
