A'ja Wilson injury prompts Aces roster decision

By Vasantha

On Sunday, leading MVP candidate A'ja Wilson missed the Las Vegas Aces' loss against the New York Liberty due to a foot ailment.

Wilson's status against the Indiana Fever on Wednesday is unknown, but the Aces signed backup center Queen Egbo to a second 7-day deal on Monday.

Queen Egbo joined the Aces on a 7-day deal before Wilson's injury, but she adds frontcourt depth if Wilson is out for a while.

Egbo has only appeared in the final 56 seconds of the Aces' Sunday loss against the Liberty.

She has previously played for the Los Angeles Sparks and Connecticut Sun on hardship contracts this season.

Egbo, the Indiana Fever's No. 10 choice in the 2022 WNBA Draft, has yet to find contract stability.

In 33 games as a rookie, she averaged 7.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.2 blocked shots while shooting 44.2 percent.

After her first year, the Fever traded Egbo to the Washington Mystics, reducing her role. Before the start of this year, the Mystics traded her to the Sun, her third team in three seasons.
